Five bridges - sweet. Nice

Too much? One of these you've already seen. [Here, I mean. You may have seen all of them in Venice.]
Did someone pass a law that said that every iron bridge in Venice had to be different? Actually, there are a couple or three that I think may be the same, but I could be wrong. It's quite hard to compare them side-by-side. I have more of these photos, as I'm sure you do too, but five is enough to be going on with.
For a bonus point, explain the title.

"Free Online Casino Game" - that's a very unusual nom-de-net. Kinda scary!

Isn't anyone going to name the bridges?

I can't name the bridges Bert but I have a question. Is it possible to walk round Venice and cross every bridge only once?

An interesting question, Andrew. No doubt you have all heard of Euler's solution to the problem of the Seven Bridges of Königsberg. Well, I don't think I've found two sources that agree on the number of bridges in Venice, but it is generally agreed to be over 400. If every land mass has an even number of bridges connecting it to other land masses, or, if no more than two land masses have an odd number of bridges, then it can be done. Away you go!

P.S. Don't include the private bridges, as they don't have an exit.
Just to give you an idea of the difficulty of counting the number of bridges, Venice Bridge by Bridge by Gianpietro Zucchetta lists 446 bridges (pre-Calatrava) (according to Michael Specter), but 443 according to Berendt. This figure (whichever you believe) would include 86 private bridges. Venice Magazine gave the figure 347 public bridges before the Ponte de la Costituzione was built. www.romaround.it said there are 116 islands connected by 416 bridges (again, this must include private bridges).
I suggest you get a really good map!

Nice photographs. I love bridges and there's nothing like the bridges of Venice. They are beautifully ornamented.

Five bridges . . . Sweet! Nice.

I think the answer to the puzzler is that you would drop from exhaustion before crossing the 446 or 443 or 416 bridges.
