Fondamenta coperta

Fondamenta coperta, a kind of sotoportego which goes along a canal.

A lovely place to stop and reflect on the day!

There is a very narrow street - one of the narrowest in Venice - that leads off to the right. The nizioleto has been recently painted on the sotoportego, and either the painter has missed an 'L' out, or it's the Venetian spelling.
You can find the spot in San Polo.

We passed through here as we wandered in Venice...didn't know where we were.

I didn't know where it was, but I do believe I know who it is!

Fantastic. I love the way the pillars and openings change by section. Far one looks almost East Asian.
